Predictions for South Carolina’s tough 2019 football season

GCF 2019 predictions for 2019. Let me start out that I do feel it is possibility to have a very nice season even a chance at a 9 win campaign for 2019. Chances to me are 50-50. Lot of good fortunes will have to fall the Gamecocks way, To start with, need to win over one of the top three Bama, Georgia or Clemson to make the 9 wins possible plus other pieces of the puzzle will have to fit like not having a repeat of last years rash of inures which for all purposes desolated the team in 2018. Yes annalist rank the Gamecocks schedule as the toughest but there is wiggle room for a nine win season here and the games I have but in the win column will give the Gamecocks the best chance to reach the 9 win totals with fall practice just weeks away this is a very good time to dive into my prediction for 2019. So here we go. (READ FULL ARTICLE)

I'd love to have 9 wins, but I'm not certain it'll happen. There are definitely opportunities for it to happen though. We beat everyone except UGA, Bama, and the taters, and that will put us at 9. I'm thinking 7 is most likely with a good chance of 8. Beat the teams we should be beating like UNC, App St., CSU, Vandy, UK, and Missouri. Then win 2 of 3 against UT, UF, and A&M. That puts us at 8 without stretching into the wishful thinking domain.

Most years I do my predication without the Garnet glasses. This year just wanted to look at the positive spin well knowing the Gamecocks could end up anywhere from 5-7 and to 9-3 but hopefully somewhere in between. The nine will come in if we beat Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida needing to beat one of the top three I talked about. A lot of the analyst feel the Gamecocks will lose to Tennessee. If so 7,8 wins. The best bet with my money would be on 7-5. like I said 50-50 chance to go 9-3. Leave myself some wiggle room. :football-touchdown-dance-smilesmall:

Anyone else thoughts? What is your predictions for 2019? Let's hear it fanatics!!

Of course we could just go out there and lay the wood to every mutha-fu**a that lines up against us, shock the damn world, and leave everyone wondering where in the hell this team came from.

This team will have been forged in the fires that came from a shutout bowl loss to a Virginia team that treated it like a playoff game, while we treated it like a scrimmage.

We will in fact surprise many people.  Muschamp gets that monkey off his back this year.

UNC - Win 35-10 (UNC will not score a TD on offense)

Charleston Southern - Win 27-6 (won't show anything, because....)

Alabama - Loss 31-28 in OT

at Missouri - Win 35-24 (after trailing 24-3 at the half)

Kentucky - Win 45-26

BYE (can't screw that up)

at Georgia - Win 27-24 (yeah, I said it)

Florida - Win 19-12 (Gators get to relive memories of a Muschamp defense, which will now be nightmares)

at Tennessee Win 31-13 (who's your daddy....)

Vanderbilt Win 26-17 (Mason fighting for his job at this point makes it closer than it should be)

Appalachian State Win 51-7 (seriously....nothing to fear here....)

at Texas A&M Loss 31-24 (at 9-1, Carolina will be ranked in the top 10, so they move this game to prime time.....and that's that)

BYE (that's what we're about to say to...)

Clemson.........

WIN 33-30.  (....and their playoff chances). It's about dag-gone time too.

Georgia's only SEC loss is to us, they finish 7-1 go to Atlanta. :(

Bowl Game: COTTON Bowl (finally!) versus Texas.  ESPN will fawn all over the Longhorns, Tom Herman, Gamecocks barely get a mention.

Yet the Gamecocks win the game 37-23.

There you have it.....an 11-2 finish, just like Muschamp did at Florida.

We have the tools, we have the talent.......

That's what my garnet colored glasses say, too. 15-0, baybeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Gamecocks have a good shoot at 6 wins to 7 wins and a bowl. Beyond that icing on the cake, which is achievable to 9 wins. I cannot see even with Garnet classes 10 or plus. 10th win would have to achieved in the bowl game.

One never knows what will happen. As a Gamecock fan for decades, I'm predicting 7 and 5. I feel like we will win one that we're supposed to lose (like Georgia or A&M) and lose one we're supposed to win (like Vandy or Missouri). We simply don't have the horses to hang with Bama or Clemson as yet. If we can be competitive against them it will help our recruiting. I do think it's imperative for Muschamp that we beat Florida and Kentucky this year.

Safe to say as a fan base 7-5 or 8-4 most Cock fans would be well satisfied?

In all honesty. I think 8-4 is reasonable with a 9th game as a bonus. I agree tho that a 10th win would have to be a bowl game.

I look at it this way. We had 7 regular season wins last year, with a D that looked like a MASH unit by season's end. With a normal amount of injuries, we beat Florida (easily) and maybe even Clemson. And we are certainly get a better bowl game - one that we would have been excited to play in, and the UVA debacle never happens. Heck, with a healthier team, we even get more bowl practices in - Boom cut back because he could not afford anyone else getting hurt. If the injuries had not happened, expectations for 2018 would be off the charts.

We return a LOT of players, including the guys that were hurt AND the youngsters that got early experience due to all of the injuries. That will help. And we have a nice recruiting class to dramatically improve depth and even upgrade a few spots. The excuse for the low expected win total is the schedule - but the schedule is always tough, and the only real difference this year is that we trade Ole Miss for Alabama.

Having said all of that, I expect 9 - 10 wins, and for us to be competitive with everyone that we play.

What you say can happen and just maybe.

Satisfied?

Hell nah!

I won't be satisfied until I see us win the whole damn thing a couple of times and deliver a 60 point ass whipping to the taters.

Agree, What our some steps now you all think that will make it where the Gamecocks can win an Natty?

Get Jordan Burch to go with the other winners we got committed, let Ryan get some playing time this year when Jake has us up a couple scores. Sadly, that just means saying next year one more time but that Long center is going to start paying off and we will see it with a Natty in the next 2 years.

Those sweet Gamecocks fans gave 50 million dollars to see that Natty and our good recruiting coach has the right coordinators to do it.

I will give my score picks later.

Here is what I see...

We have trouble on the road and lose to Georgia by 7 and A&M by 2 or 3 just missing the CFP. Sadly, Georgia gets the East with one loss and goes on to beat LSU.

Final 11-2 after we kill someone like UVA did us last year.
