This is a hard game to predict for me. On paper, the Gators have the clear advantage any way you slice it.
However, Luke Del Rio will be out this game, so that means Appleby will be playing. His rating is actually better, and he played a lot against Tennessee and Vandy. He was effective in a loss to Tennessee, and ineffective the following week at Vanderbilt, which was a win. You would think being at home would help him. BUT......Florida has struggled to run the football as well. They do not have anywhere close to a 100 yard per game back.
Yet as we know, Florida relies heavily on their defense, and there are not many injuries there. Yardage may be hard to come by. Scoring will be at a premium. We do have a great FG kicker.
I think this game has the potential to be an East version of LSU/Alabama, both teams struggling to get points. This will be low scoring and the lower the better for the Gamecocks. There will be a lot of FGs kicked, so advantage to us.
I can see it being a 16-13 advantage for the Gators, while we drive down and kick the game-tier to send it to OT. Once there, I think Florida kicks a FG, but we finally take advantage of a short field and score a TD, and Muschamp has his revenge.
Final: South Carolina 22, Florida 19 (OT)
