[SIZE=10.5pt]A pretty rough outcome for the season-opener. Lets get right to the Player of the Game selections. I should have made more of an effort to be sure if these would be Gamecock players of the game, or just players of the game, which could possibly be players for the other team. So for this edition, I will do both, and get a better understanding for future games:

[SIZE=10.5pt]QB Sam Howell, North Carolina: a true freshman for 2019, Howell stepped forward and had a stellar game. 15 of 24, 245 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs. For all the pre-season talk of him facing a SEC-level defense, Howell performed like a seasoned veteran.
