The South Carolina Gamecocks fall in a painful way to the Tennessee Volunteers 41-21 on the road in a crucial SEC divisional game with a future bowl bid on the line. The Vols’ passing offense under Jauan Jennings, Jarrett Guarantano, and J.T. Shrout proved too much for our secondary as they led the Volunteer offense to 485 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jennings was the most impactful at WR, where he dominated our DBs for. The Gamecocks have to wipe the memory of this one and get back to work: they host the Vanderbilt Commodores in Williams-Brice this Saturday. We have a three-way tie: WR Shi Smith: Shi led the team with a career-best 156 receiving yds on 11 catches, with 1 TD; QB Ryan Hilinski: Ryan completed 28 of 51 passes for 319 yds and 1 TD, despite being battered and pummeled all game long; and WR Bryan Edwards: Bryan set the new program career record for receptions for the WR today, with his 208th catch. He finished with 8 receptions for 83 yds, no TDs.

LB T.J. Brunson: T.J. led the defense with 10 total tackles, with 3 solo, and one tackle for loss.

WR Jauan Jennings: Jennings did most of his dirty work at WR, and he was unstoppable and un-defendable by the Gamecock DBs, with 7 receptions for 174 yds and 2 touchdowns, including a 48-yard score.
Honorable Mention: WR Marquez Calloway: Calloway complimented Jennings in providing a one-two punch against the Gamecock defense, with 3 receptions for 102 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown, and another 48-yard reception.
