Johnny Dixon
4 star CB Johnny Dixon 5'11" 170lbs of Tampa had long favored USC and nearly committed on his last visit in late November. But he held off and took an official visit to Miami the following weekend. He stayed silent about his plans until this morning when he signed with USC.
“I just feel the most comfortable with them and I can see the program growing,” Dixon said. “They say I have the chance to come in and compete for a spot in the lineup.”
Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson made Dixon and early priority for their class after seeing him in summer camps and making him an early offer. Dixon said the relationship he built with the two, especially Robinson, was big to him..
“That’s my favorite coach,” he said. “Thru the whole process he’s got to be my favorite coach. I know for a fact they can develop me into the player I need to be.”
Dixon took his official visit to USC in June. He took an official to Penn State in September but the Nittany Lions eventually faded in the competition. West Virginia was another school he seriously considered.
Dixon gives the Gamecocks two cornerbacks in the class thus far along with Cam Smith.
