Ex-Clemson HC Monte Lee recently accepted a position with the Los Angeles Dodgers but has elected to give up that role and make his return to Columbia. Lee has deep ties to the Palmetto State. A Lugoff native, he played at the College of Charleston and has coached at four different places in the state.
Monte Lee career
Lee began his coaching career as an assistant at Spartanburg Methodist before becoming an assistant coach for the Gamecocks from 2003-08. He traveled to the southeastern corner of the state for his first head coaching job, which came at the College of Charleston from 2009-15. Lee then accepted the head coaching position in the northwest corner of the state at Clemson University where he served from 2016 until this past spring.
