Gamecocks athletics director Ray Tanner on SEC officiating (AUDIO)
Oct. 24, 2019, | sportstalk
Gamecocks athletics director Ray Tanner joined SportsTalk Thursday and the conversation turned quickly to the officiating controversy surrounding South Carolina’s game with Florida. It had been previously reported that Tanner had been in contact with the league office and commissioner Greg Sankey.
Tanner made it clear the league office had been responsive, but also told SportsTalk he had shared suggestions on ways the league can ensure they “get the calls right” through better use of technology.
Tanner said, “Coaches have got to have the right to question more calls, maybe have another flag to use. Perhaps another official in the booth. But a lot of this is driven by the NCAA … we have the technology. Let’s continue to evolve.”
