Gamecocks commitment adds All-America honor

April 10, 2018

Four-star quarterback Ryan Hilinski, one of the top commitments in the 2019 South Carolina recruiting class, is an All-American.

On Monday night, Hilinski announced that he would play in the Under Armour All-America Game. It’s another big honor for Hilinski, who was invited to participate in the Elite 11, which is set for the first weekend in June.

The Gamecocks latest commitment is ranked as the No.8 pro-style passer by the 247Sports composite. Among South Carolina’s 2019 commitments, Hilinski (308) is ranked second-highest. Four-star wide receiver Jamario Holley is No. 269 overall in the national player rankings.

Hilinski (Orange, Calif.) is expected to rise in the composite rankings, once Rivals makes its latest update for prospects from the Class of 2019. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound prospect is currently rated as a 3-star by Rivals and ranked as the No. 11 pro-style quarterback in the country.

Several South Carolina signees were selected to play in the 2018 Under Armour game: 4-star tackle Dylan Wonnum (Tucker, Ga.), 4-star cornerback Jaycee Horn (Alpharetta, Ga.) and 3-star linebacker Rosendo Louis (Deerfield Beach, Fla.).
