Gamecocks down a player suspended after arrest on domestic violence charge

Gamecock DB Jamel Cook was suspended indefinitely following a Friday arrest on a domestic violence charge.
After being arrested by the Columbia Police Department, he was booked at 1:36 a.m. and released at 12:53 p.m., records show.
According to a police incident report: “Cook is accused of physically assaulting a female several times about the body during an argument while at the 700 block of Gadsden Street.”
