South Carolina Head Coach Frank Martin has secured his first commitment for the 2020 cycle Tuesday, with 6-10 PF/C Patrick Iriel, out of A C Flora. Iriel also had offers from Boston College, Butler, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Southern Cal, College of Charleston, and Wofford among others.
Iriel's commitment fills a need at the Center position, with senior posts Maik Kotsar and Graduate Transfer Micaiah Henry expected to graduate after the 2019-20 season. With Iriel's commitment, South Carolina will have one more open scholarship for the 2020 cycle, barring any roster attrition due to early departures for the professional ranks or transfers out of the program.
