4 star LB Mohamed Kaba 6'3" 210lbs of Clinton, NC picked up recent offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Florida, Notre Dame and Virginia. USC and Clemson also are on his offer list with North Carolina, Duke, NC State, East Carolina, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. He visited USC in January and he has the Gamecocks in his top five. And he has a return visit planned.
USC linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler is in regular contact with Kaba and he said the conversations are fairly routine at this point.
“Pretty much same thing over and over. We’ve got a good relationship right now,” Kaba said. ” He likes my toughness, my speed. I really like the coaches and facilities. I’m going there next Saturday. I haven’t seen the defense yet. I’m going to watch their practice next Saturday and see everything.”
Kaba said he will visit NC State Friday. He has also seen North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
As for his top five, Kaba listed USC, North Carolina, Duke, NC State and Tennessee in that group. There is no leader at this point. He has set August 26th, after his season opening game, for making his commitment announcement.
So, with SEC and ACC teams in his top five, does conference choice made a difference? Kaba said no.
“I just grew up wanting to play football anywhere pretty much.”
He said all five schools are recruiting him with the same effort.
