Robinson is rated as the No. 2 prospect in South Carolina by the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 1 prospect in the state by Rivals.

The four-star defensive back from Lake Marion is not yet ready to name any favorites but said the Gamecocks definitely helped themselves over the weekend.

“They helped themselves a lot with me getting to come in here and learn new things. They helped themselves a lot,” he told The State.

Robinson especially enjoyed visiting with USC head coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson. The two made it clear that they really want Robinson to end up at South Carolina.

“It was a very impressive visit. I liked it. I enjoyed it,” he said. “I got to sit down with Coach Muschamp and T-Rob. They were talking to me about how I’m a priority and they need me here.”

The Gamecocks view Robinson as someone who could play cornerback, nickel or safety in college. He enjoyed the whole day but said one part stood out.

“My favorite part was I got to sit down with coach T-Rob and he was explaining things to me about the defense, the way he coaches and stuff like that,” he said.

Robinson said he has really enjoyed building a relationship with the coach who could end up being his defensive coordinator in college.

“I’ve got a good relationship with coach T-Rob. He’s really recruiting me hard,” Robinson said. “He’s a nice guy. He played the position, so obviously he knows what he’s talking about with my position.”
