Gamecocks land a commit from 2021 OF Dariyan Pendergrass

2021 OF Dariyan Pendergrass of Hartsville committed to USC Tuesday night according to the Florence Post 1 American Legion program. He’s also been a football player for the Red Foxes.

Pendergrass, who also plays slot receiver for the Hartsville football team and PG for their basketball team, hit .457 for the Red Foxes last season, with 45 stolen bases. He earned All-State honors and the Region 6-4A Player of the Year award. Pendergrass followed his high school season with an equally impressive stint in American Legion ball. He led Florence Post 1 by hitting over .400 and also swiped 24 bags – the second-most ever in a single season in program history.

Looks like the staff is still out there recruiting talent to the program. Coach Kingston has stated in a recent press conference that he is very optimistic about the team he'll have for next season. The Gamecocks fall camp is now underway, and will feature two scrimmages with ACC programs. They start by traveling to North Carolina State on September 29, and will later host Georgia Tech on Oct. 20, at 1:30 pm. No time was given for the first pitch for the NC State game....
