Gamecocks land commitment from one of nation's top kickers

Special teams coordinator Joe Robinson has a reputation for finding top unsigned kickers and bringing them in as preferred walk-ons. He did just that with Texas kicker Elliott Fry, who has given his official commitment to South Carolina and will enroll this fall. Fry is rated as the 8th best kicker prospect nationally by Chris Sailer Kicking. Here's what Chris Sailer said about USC's newest commitment (Elliott Fry profile
page):
"Elliott is simply an outstanding kicker. He has a big time leg and gets great height on his ball off the ground. Kicks well under pressure. One of the most consistent all around performers in the nation. Kickoffs and Field Goals are ready for D1 college football right now. He is also a great punter. His punting is also D1 ready. A top national combo player without a doubt. Has a great attitude and work ethic. Has proven he is worthy of a D1 scholarship. Great prospect... Turned down D1 offer and will commit to South Carolina as a preferred walk on. Huge pick up for South Carolina."
