Gamecocks land preferred walk-on long snapper Matthew Smith

Long snapper Matthew Smith announced on National Signing Day that he has agreed to join the South Carolina football team as a preferred walk-on.
The news was tweeted around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Smith, who’s from Roswell (Ga.) High School, chose South Carolina over an offer from Mississippi State. The Gamecocks extended the invite late last month, almost two weeks after the Bulldogs pulled the trigger.
