Gamecocks offer OG out of Atlanta
SPORTSTALK / February 10, 202Pace Academy in Atlanta is home to 2024 DT Hevin Shuler-Brown, a one-time Columbia resident who is a major target of USC for that class. Pace also is home to 2023 OG Trovon Baugh (6-4 305), and he too is a major Gamecock target in his class. USC offensive line coach Greg Adkins proved that interest by offering Baugh this week.
“The communication was always there from September, we just had to play it out and let it take time after the season,” Bough said. “We’ve talked every week sense September, so when Coach Adkins called and told me I was getting the offer I was excited and hype just to know it finally happened.”
Bough can play center or guard and said Adkins likes how he can be moved around on the offensive line.
“He says he likes my athletic ability and my physical game,” Bough said. “I play with effort every game. Also, coach said he loves my unique skill set, and also how my run blocking can help.”
Bough has yet to visit USC, but he’s aware of what the Gamecocks accomplished last season. And he plans to see more for himself next month.
“I know it’s a program that gets better and better every year and the coaches believe in everything they’re doing and also believe in the players around them” Bough said. “I will be in Columbia on March 19th. I have visited Wake Forest and Duke. I plan to visit SC, Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State, and Michigan State. I do not have a top group. I’m looking for where I feel wanted and excited.”
Bough also holds offers from Georgia Tech, Missouri, Liberty. Duke, Tulane, Purdue, Wake Forest, South Florida, Florida State, FAU and Morgan State.
Bough plans to announce on one of two dates, either his birthday on July 8th or his mother’s birthday on September 12th.
