Gamecocks offer top prospects from Tennessee

January 10, 2018

With a total of 19 4-star recruits, according to the 247Sports composite, the state of Tennessee is loaded with prospects from the Class of 2019, many of whom received an offer from South Carolina before Tuesday.

Three more were offered by the Gamecocks, a day after the national title game: 4-star cornerback Woodi Washington (Murfreesboro-Oakland), 4-star cornerback Adonis Otey (Murfreesboro-Blackman) and 4-star athlete Cameron Wynn (Chattanooga-Notre Dame).

South Carolina running backs coach Bobby Bentley was in touch with Otey and Wynn, according to the two prospects.

“Loves my athleticism and how I can play all over the field and wants to get me down for a visit,” Otey said of Bentley’s message.

Wynn said Bentley “liked my film and more.”

Otey, who’s the No. 28 cornerback in the country, visited South Carolina for a session of Muschamp Camp. Wynn, who was offered as a wide receiver, hasn’t been to Columbia yet.

“It’s been a while since I [have] been down there, but before I make a decision I’ll go visit again,” Otey said.

Tennessee picked up a commitment from Otey in late April, but he backed off that pledge in July.
