Gamecocks open as 6-point underdogs at home against Kentucky

The Gamecocks opened as a 6-point underdog in their upcoming matchup against SEC East foe Kentucky, according to the VegasInsider’s opening line.  Game time at Williams-Brice Stadium. Kick-off at 7 p.m. this Saturday. By late afternoon Sunday, that line was bet down to 4 points in favor of Kentucky.

This doesn’t give me confidence. I hope we can upset them.
Not surprised we are underdogs. We won 2 game last year, and so far this year, our biggest win is ECU, which took a game winning field goal to win.

But does nto bother me to be underdogs. keeps the team hungry.

The team that cost Muschamp his job and us $13.2M in lump sum money has shown up the last two games.

It's a trend that Beamer and his staff have to aggressively attack and improve.

I am going with the spread until we get better in games.

We seem to always have trouble beating Kentucky, but it will be interesting to see how we respond to the UGA game. Hopefully the crowd will help.

First Glad this one is a home game. At this point Kentucky is the better team on paper, and on the field, better talent. They are more stable with a HC being their what 7, 8 years? They are 5 out of 6 vs the Gamecocks past 6 years. So honesty hurts here but the Gamecocks are at the bottom of the pile. Yes step above Vanderbilt. So we got to dig and claw our way out of the funky hole we have fallen into here.

Doesn't help they have the top SEC rusher and receiver after week 3.  They beat Missouri.  Our D will be tested.  Need some Satterfield adjustments to this game plan.

UK is a good team and it’s somewhat depressing to think this is our measuring stick. I’m hoping we are better than what was on display at ECU because we won’t win against UK if we play like that. This is a must if we want to sniff a bowl invite.

I was looking at our schedule. We have two wins. I pencil in Troy and Vandy as wins, so there is 4.

Now we have UK, UT, and Missou as our best chances for Ws.of which we need 2 of 3.  For bowl berth it’s important to win now and not be reliant on the “next game.” Winning this game would be a confidence boost but losing could be just as much of a downer.

I have a feeling we will win this game. I hope I’m right.
I agree. I think UK might have bought into their own hype a little as evidenced by their struggles with Chattanooga last week. They have Florida next week which sets them up nicely for an upset if some of them are looking ahead.
