South Carolina land a third offensive lineman to the 2019 recruiting class on Saturday when 3-star guard Vincent Murphy joined the Gamecocks.
Murphy, the No. 21 offensive guard in the country (247Sports composite), plays center for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He joins Jaylen Nichols (Charlotte, N.C.) and Mark Fox Jr. (Miami, Fla.).
Rivals ranks Murphy as the No. 4 center in the Class of 2019.
Murphy, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound prospect, committed to South Carolina over offers from Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA and Wake Forest.
With his commitment, the Gamecocks class is the No. 9 overall group in the country, according to the 247Sports composite. Among SEC teams, they’re fourth.
Murphy’s commitment is the second one in as many days for South Carolina. Four-star wide receiver Jamario Holley (Rock Hill, S.C.) pulled the trigger on his pledge on Friday. The Gamecocks 2019 class is now up to seven members.
