Gamecocks ranked in AP Top 25 for the first time in four years

I hope CSB runs with that in his pitch to recruits. I'm a little more hesitant to claim top 25 status...let's beat Mizzou, Vandy & FL and then we can talk.

Winners of four-straight games, its longest winning streak since ending the 2013 season with six-straight wins, South Carolina is ranked in the A.P. poll for the first time since Sept. 4, 2018, when they checked in at No. 24 after a season-opening win over Coastal Carolina. Other than that one week in 2018, the Gamecocks have not been ranked in the Top-25 in the A.P. since the 2014 season when they were ranked in five-consecutive polls to open the season.

Ranked once, and it was very briefly at that, during Muschamp's tenure.

One game at a time, but this seems to be a much better team than any Muschamp had here. They had their moments for sure, but were consistently inconsistent.

Here's hoping that Shane starts doing Spurrier things and keeps it rolling. He's stacked pretty for next year's recruiting class in ways that Muschamp never was going into Year 3.

Spurrier always had that knock-out blow in the air that offset defensive issues, but maybe Shane will give us a more balanced team and win that way.
