Gamecocks receive commitment from Florida DB Damarri Mathis

Just a couple of hours after picking up a commitment from DB Tavyn Jackson, South Carolina has landed another 3-star cornerback from Florida in DB Damarri Mathis.
The 2017 prospect from Lakeland High School tweeted the news on Friday afternoon.

Mathis committed to South Carolina over offers from Ole Miss, Pittsburgh and UCF.
“I felt it was the bet fit for me … as an athlete and student,” he said.
The 3-star prospect is ranked as the No. 152 cornerback in the class of 2017. He’s also listed as the No. 236 overall prospect from the state of Florida.
Mathis, who’s listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, visited South Carolina earlier this week.
