COLUMBIA, S.C. (August 15, 2012) – A large crowd that filled nearly the entire lower east stands was on hand to witness the South Carolina Gamecocks scrimmage for the second time during the preseason on Wednesday night at Williams-Brice Stadium. It was the final open practice of the preseason for the Gamecocks.
“It was a good scrimmage, because nobody got seriously hurt,” said head coach Steve Spurrier. “We had one slight concussion to (redshirt freshman cornerback) Ahmad Christian, but I think he’ll be all right. We got 85 plays in - a lot of good plays by the offense, some bad plays. A lot of good plays by the defense and (some) not so good plays by them also. The punters hit some good ones. The kickers hit some good ones and some bad ones. It was just practice. Hopefully we can learn from it and get better.” (more)
