It didn’t take long for the college recruiters to jump all over 4 star DE Tega Wanogho Jr. (6-8 250) of Elmore, AL when he decided to reclassify from 2016 to 2015. According to his coach Bobby Carr, nearly 30 schools have been in touch including USC and Clemson with the Gamecocks making a particularly strong push to get him on campus for an official visit this month.

“He talked to coach (Kirk) Botkin today and he’s coming in on Thursday,” Carr said. “He talked to three different coaches from there, and I think maybe coach Spurrier, and he said coach, I really like those coaches. We’ll sit down tonight and decide on officials and I think it’s pretty good (chance USC will get a visit). He doesn’t know the different between Oregon and South Carolina. He has no clue. He likes Oregon’s uniforms. Somebody has got to come in and sell him and he’s got to be comfortable.”

Wanogho came to Alabama from Nigeria this past fall as an international student to play basketball.

“The first (football) game he ever saw was the first one he played in,” Carr said. “He’s a walking NFL millionaire one day. He’s the next Jadeveon Clowney, I’ll tell you that, once he figures out football.”

Carr said Wanogho is an excellent athlete and runs a 4.6 or better. And he’s a better person. “He has a humble spirit and is a great, great kid. A strait A student.

Clemson recruiter Marion Hobby also has been in touch and is checking to see if the Tigers have the room to take Wanogho. The coach said he’s also heard from Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Oregon, Baylor, Texas, LSU, Tennessee and others.
