Just after 3:30 p.m. Friday, the team’s official account tweeted that the Gamecocks had boarded the bus for Clemson. The teams on Friday evening mutually announced a game time change from 8 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

This is good.  No point in sitting around for another two hours.

Been a much different game than I thought it would be so far.  ‘Cocks with some TIGHT defense, and Tigers missing lots of 3 pointers 0-6).

Good guys 13-9.

Continuing to have extremely tight defense in this contact.  Have switched personnel regularly and switched defenses regularly as well (man vs. Zone).

So far, ‘Cocks have looked good, and kept PJ Hall at bay.

15-13 good guys with 7:19 to go.

USC stunk up the court the last 5 minutes of that half.  WE are getting nothing at all in the paint.  Nothing.   Bryant is a walking turnover.  Nobody has played worth a shit.

@Gary… the ACC homer refs aren’t helping us.  Bryant didn’t play well at end, but we’ve gotta clean up the glass.  Need more of your guy TreVaughn Minotte grabbing boards defensively.  Too many 2nd possessions by Clemson.  We’re playing well overall, and getting after it defensively.  Add in some offensive contributions from E. Stevenson, we’ve got a game today!

Clemson leads 30-24 at the half. We're in the game, which is surprising considering how many are out for us. Neither team shot well at aall for the half. Clemson holds the 27-17 rebounding edge, which is not good for us.

Who will make the better adjustments for the 2nd half?

I’ve gotta credit Minotte against Hall.  He’s holding his own.  Looks more like he did last season when in good form

I had hoped that Bryant, Stevenson, and Couisnard, being older players, would carry us tonight.   But its not happening.  None of the three are playing well.   Kind of hope they all move on after the season.   Need some new blood in the program.

They have out-rebounded us 44-29.

Really missing Leveque and Gray tonight.

A winnable game with those two guys in the mix.

We have been outworked on the boards.  clemson  wants the ball more than we do.  There are no excuses for that.

Very disappointing game that I now beleive  should not have been played.   Frank should have cancelled.   Another bad decision by Frank and Ray Tanner.  NEVER,  EVER play your arch rival when you are less than 100 percent, if you can get out of it.    Had we won, I would be glad we played, but had I known who was out with Covid, I think I would have chosen not to play.   This is a decision that could help end Frank's job at USC.  Big mistake in hindsight.

And, if I were Frank, I'd cancell the game with Army too.  Another game we can't afford to lose.

What difference does it make?
If you don't know, I don't want to be the one to tell you.

Couisnard should be out for the Army game.  Wilson out injured.  Leveque, Reese, Gray, and Devin Carter will be out with Covid.  That leaves us with 3 walk ons and 7 scholarship players.   After the game with Clemson, I don't want to see us play anymore games missing those players.

In a game where our veteran players should have carried us, they didn't.   Stevenson shot 3-12, scored 10 points.   Keyshawn Bryant shot 2-12, scored 5 points.   I'll give Couisnard a pass since he is hurt and should not have played at all.   Frank has to hold Couisnard out until he is fully healed.   I have no explanation for why Bryant is so unproductive.   He hasn't played well in a game yet this season, imo.   Stevenson needs to shoot well in order to make his maximum contribution, but he could not do it last night.

Another problem we have is we don't have a good PG.   Couisnard has missed practice and games with injuries.  Jacobi Wright is a freshman and is up and down.   He was pretty bad against clemson, imo.   When he comes back, I won't be surprised if Devin Carter plays a lot at PG.  He is easily our best driver.  He can get to the paint off the dribble, which Wright could not do against clemson.     This team needs all of its pieces.   Without the guys who were out or ineffective because of injury last night, its going to be hard to beat anyone that is pretty good.
