Yes, we need to back the kids win or lose. Hope we have a good turn out which most likely be the last game played at home in the 2019 season.

Gamecock starters for tonight's game

Ready for first pitch! Sophomore righty Parker Coyne takes the ball for his first start and 14th appearance of the season.

M1 | Coyne breezes through the teeth of USC Upstate's lineup, 3 up 3 down to send us to the home half.

Great outing from Parker! 5.0 innings pitched - his longest outing on the mound this season - with 6 Ks, 0 walks, and 0 runs allowed. Bridges is now in to start the 6th inning. We need to give these guys some offensive support: we've had 5 guys in scoring position, but haven't been able to drive them in. USC Upstate has had 0 guys in scoring position, I believe....

Top of the 9th, score still 0-0.

I gotta tell ya, I can't possibly think this is at all good news for Coach Kingston and Coach Meade, and definitely NOT what they were hoping for, before the game tonight. As thin as our pitching staff is, if this goes to extra innings, it only further harms our chances of having anybody fresh enough to effectively pitch this weekend. A blow-out loss to USC Upstate right now would be a better scenario over an extra-inning pitching duel......

We're in trouble here, in top 9th inning. Bases loaded by USC-Upstate with only 1 out.....

BIG strike-out swinging by Hinson gets the 2nd out.......

HUGE strike-out swinging AGAIN, for the 3rd and final out!! Great job, Gage!!

Bottom 9th, 0-0....

Clarke doubles  - he JUST missed ending it with a homerun - to lead off! He's replaced by pinch-runner English. Clarke was our catcher, filling in for Berryhill who was DH-ing tonight...

Allen flies out....

Cullen fouled out.....

By the way, I haven't posted about this, but USC-Upstate has gone with just one single pitcher all night. He's now past 110 total pitches thrown, but we're still struggling to hit off him.....

UNTIL NOW!!! Beamon hits a walk-off single with 2 outs to drive in Clarke, and score the winning run. Gamecocks win 1-0!! :animated-smileys-sport-032: :animated-applause-smiley-imagesmall:
