Georgia corner checks out Gamecocks Saturday

One of the top cornerback prospects in Georgia, Rashad Battle (6-2 187) of Fairburn, made a stop at USC Saturday for the Gamecocks social recruiting event. And it was the non-football element of the day that Battle really enjoyed.
“I enjoyed the scavenger hunt and how everybody there that did it was having fun,” Battle said. “The family atmosphere stood out the most.”
The Gamecocks are trying to build a family of defensive backs and Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson believe they are piecing together a quality group. Battle can see that too and sees progress in the program.
“The program is on the uprise, but it’s a really good defense that they run, Battle said. “They had major success in Florida. I’m a true corner and that’s what they are recruiting me as.”
Battle also recently visited Georgia Tech. He’s not sure when he’ll return to USC. He has an official visit to Maryland scheduled for May 31st. Other offers include Duke, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, West Virginia and Louisville.
