Georgia pledge Rashad Cheney Jr. returns for South Carolina linemen camp

South Carolina hosted its first session of OL/DL camp on Friday morning and several prospects were on hand, including Georgia commitment Rashad Cheney Jr.
Cheney, a 4-star 2019 defensive tackle from Atlanta, Ga., has visited Columbia several times this year and he continues to list the Gamecocks present the biggest threat to the Dawgs. According to 247Sports, he’s ranked as the No. 9 defensive tackle in the Class of 2019.
Four-star tackle Warren McClendon (Brunswick, Ga.) was the top-rated offensive line participant: 247Sports ranks him as the No. 27 offensive tackle in the Class of 2019 and the No. 219 overall prospect.
Two of South Carolina’s three 2018 offensive line commitments, center Hank Manos and guard LaMarius Benson, also worked out at Stone Stadium on Friday. Three-star tackle Maxwell Iyama is gearing up for the Rivals 5-star Challenge in Indianapolis. He’ll travel to Columbia at some point next week for camp.
Five-star defensive end K.J. Henry, who’s also Indianapolis bound, wasn’t in Columbia. His dad, Keith, was one of several coaches from Charlotte assisting at the Gamecocks camp. Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian College had coaches working the camp.
