Hardy still feels the love from Gamecocks

SPORTSTALK / April 22, 2022

The two have developed a tight relationship through the recruiting process, and they got the chance to talk some more in person last weekend at the spring game. Hardy has had USC as one of his top teams for a considerable amount of time. He said the last visit just reinforced all the good feelings he’s had about the program.

“The fans are real supportive and they bring a lot of energy into the stadium,” Hardy said. “We’ve just been in love with South Carolina since day one. It feels like home. Me and Coach Lindsey have a close bond. He’s one of the coaches that’s been recruiting me hard since day one.”

Hardy added that what he’s getting back from Lindsey and the Gamecock staff is the same as what he’s heard from them from the start.

“It’s still the same love. It hasn’t changed,” Hardy said.

Hardy has also visited Ole Miss, Florida, Georgia Southern and Georgia State. He cited Florida, Auburn and Michigan State as three other programs he likes that are showing him strong interest.

In February Hardy named a top eight of USC, Georgia, Florida, Miami, UCF, Jackson State, Ole Miss and Florida State.

The next step in the process for Hardy is to decide on his official visits and he said he’ll announce those schools sometime in May.

Hardy made 56 tackles last season with 18 for loss and 7 sacks.
