FSU isn't much better than Wake Forrest right now (low viewership) and the Taters would be looking at 2-3 losses/year easily if they came into the SEC. Does anyone think Clemson consulted Reverend Ostarine on this matter?Per a reliable source, Clemson+Florida State have reached out to the SEC about joining the conference.
The SEC is concerned that streaming numbers for Clemson+Florida State don't bring what Oklahoma+Texas do.
My understanding of the ACC terms is it is a grant of rights, the ACC owns any and all i/conference revenue generated by a member school until those 15 years expire, so any school that left for another school would get $0 for the next 15 years, and all of the income they generated during that time period would go to the ACC. There isn't a team in the ACC has a financial support system to be able to survive that kind of revenue loss. ACC would have to dissolve before any of the current member schools could afford to leave.I read an article that mentioned how it's not plausible for ACC teams to walk away from the 15 years plus remaining on the conference's TV rights deal. Not sure if that means there is a buyout if teams leave or what. Screw the acc.
