BEFORE POSTING ON THIS THREAD DO NOT TRASH THE YOUNG MAN. WE CAN DISAGREE WITH WHAT HE HAS TO SAY AND SPEAK FREELY ABOUT IT..

Seems he had a few problems that carried through his stay at Clemson and here as well  What do you have to say? How you feel by what he is saying in his video?

Former Clemson and USC DT Josh Belk of Lewisville had not spoken publicly about his college experience until releasing a YouTube video Saturday night in which he gave details of his life in football from high school junior varsity to a brief stay at a junior college this year. In the video, Belk claimed USC coach Will Muschamp threatened to pull his scholarship at the end of the spring semester when he couldn’t workout because of three broken bones in his back.

I don't want to say ANYthing negative about him. He was just a big guy whom everyone thought could play ball. But I think HE never did. There area LOT of big guys that don't play ball and never wanted too. He was not involved in ball till later in life, he said.

As far as Coach Muschamp - I write his comments off to simple disappointment that the dream that he COULD play ball for a LIFE was ended by his health.

Wish him all the luck in the world.

Good luck to him.  There's so many ways we can dissect this and none of it looks good for Belk.  I hope he's happy and has a productive life regardless of the path he takes.

Usually when you are injured, even if you can't workout, they like for you to be with the team and doing whatever exercise your body can handle (cardio etc)..so maybe they wanted him involved in some capacity and he didn't want to be? Doesn't add up about pulling a scholarship because a guy with a broke back won't lift weights, seems there is a part of the story that is missing...

There usually is. Unfortunately we'll probably never get to hear the full story, but this half story will pick up steam.

Sorry I am going to have to call BS on this.  I do not believe the staff would go against the medical staff and tell a player they have to practice or else.  Time for him to move on with lift just as we have all moved on from him.

Weird video, but even if everything he says is true, I'm not necessarily peeved at Muschamp about it.

The game of football obviously just didn't mean that much to Belk, and that's honestly okay. But as Belk says, college football is a business, so if he isn't committed enough to eating right, working out consistently, and putting in a ton of practice like the rest of the team does, you are a waste of scholarship money as far as Muschamp is concerned. Will is all about the effort, toughness, and discipline. If you come in to a program coached by Will Muschamp 100 pounds heavier than what he recruited you as, and that weight essentially debilitates you from practicing, lifting, playing, and trying, Muschamp is not going to like that. And then once Belk got inevitably injured due to that weight, Belk didn't in the necessary rehab and guided strength conditioning to recover and keep up his strength. He just didn't care that much to go through all the physical and mental strain of injury rehab.

And that's fine, if that's what Josh wants. But don't expect Muschamp to allow you to sit around and not try.

According to Mike Uva, his source with team said that taking a shot at Muschamp with false accusations like that is weak. Added that Belk never fully bought in and never meshed well with the team.

He reported similar comments back in February when Belk left.

Completely forgot about the 4 year scholarship commitments.  Does put the Belk position into a completely different context.

USC was the one who got screwed by Belk.  He came in fat and unmotivated and seems to still be that way now.   You have to take responsibility for your actions or lack there of and stop blaming others because of them.  Unfortunately, many of this age group choose to play the blame game instead.  Good riddance.
