What makes you say his heart is not on playing in the NFL?I think Hilinski will be a good solid back-up QB for us for no other reason than he still may be spooked by his brother's suicide due to CTE.
He gets to avoid a lot of potential helmet-to-helmet stuff and still be on scholarship and get a degree from USC. That's a good deal if your heart is not set on playing in the NFL.
Definitely not a slam because Hilinski staying with us would break the chain of deflated egos that have left after losing their starting job.
