It's just insane to me how much depth of talent we will have on next season's roster. We already had a roster with 10 McD AAs and 14 former 5*s. Two former #1 Posts (Boston and Cardoso), three #1 PGs (Henderson, Cooke, and Johnson), and a #1 F (Feagin). We could field a B-Team of Johnson, Rivers, Feagin, Amihere, and Cardoso that would be a pretty tough team all by itself. A whole lot to look forward to with this team, and not just for next season....

 
Gotcha'....I agree, we're going to be loaded.  I will be disappointed if we don't win the NC.

UConn will be just as loaded. Just like us they went to the final four and lose no one -- and we pretty much matched each other in transfers and recruiting. It's basically going to South Carolina's elite defense and post play versus UConn's elite offense and guard play.

By most typical standards, this is true - Connecticut has a very stacked team next season. Auriemma has a long history now of relying heavily on his starting 5 as the season progresses - he typically only lets his reserves play minutes during the conference schedule against the AAC or now the Big East, where the competition is soft and his team goes undefeated every season and averages margins of wins against conference foes upwards of 40 ppg. Auriemma typically hasn't gone the full roster of 15 scholarship players, because he typically settles on 7 mostly and sticks stubbornly to them, and has a history of players transferring out of his program to find playing time elsewhere.

So him of all people, having a full roster is strange. Dawn meanwhile has a history of giving reserves ample playing opportunities if she feels they are ready for college BB. Last season our roster was a bit thin in places - out of the 11 eligible to play, Wesolek and Thompson got the least minutes, and Russell started out getting a lot of minutes in OOC play but that dwindled down once the SEC schedule started. That left 8 players who played 15-20 mpg, and that could increase with next season. I mean, it will have to with all the players.

But EVEN HAVING SAID ALL THAT - South Carolina STILL has FOUR MORE 5-STARS on our roster than what Connecticut has on theirs. They just got a graduate transfer from Ohio State who was an international star and therefore came to them with no star rating. She was a top player for them as a big, a leader in ppg and rpg, and will shore up CT's thin depth in the post. So she doesn't add to their list of "stars", but is a star college player just the same, at least she was for Ohio State.

With the Aliyah Boston class now rising juniors and major starters for their entire college career, with Henderson, Saxton, Grissett, Littleton, and Wesolek, our team will now no longer be called a young team, and will have a strong balance of upperclass leaders along with the 4 freshmen and two sophomores we'll have. CT will be led by Nelson-Odoa who has been sporadic against top competition, Christine Williams who WAS sporadic but showed some improvement this past season, and Westbrook who was still dealing with whatever injuries she has dealt with last season and may NEVER be at full strength. Then the graduate transfer, then Griffith who was a rarely-used reserve in big games. And that's it for them.

Then there's sophomore Bueckers who is still a star but made some freshman mistakes at times last season and Edwards who will be sophomores, then Fudd and her freshman class. USC will have the more experienced team next season.

The 2021-22 season is looking like a top 3 of Stanford, USC, and CT initially, with Maryland and NC State lurking close behind. We may end up playing 3 of those other 4 in the regular-season next season. Fun times.......

 
I guess it safe to say Dawn hates to lose.  LOL

We may get to play UCONN 3 times next season - Bahamas, in Columbia and NCAAT. I do think we will have the best team in the country.
