I'm looking for simple rationale on what you think of the following players:

1. Shon Carson - My take is that he is physically an SEC caliber player, but is struggling with the mental side rather that be confidence or desire. I really think his play during the stretch without Wilds will determine rather or not he is on the roster next year. I'm really cheering for him to show us something good.

2. Kendric Salley - RB is a position where I think it is easier to determine rather or not a player has it early on. I do not believe Salley has the quickness/burst to play at this level, especially after the knee injury. He has already been passed by David Williams on the depth chart and will always be behind Davis/Wilds in my opinion.

3. K.J. Brent - I really don't know what to say in this case, but it strikes me as strange that a 6'4" WR is playing the slot position. I have not seen above average athleticism nor the ability to win jump ball situations so far although he has caught the balls thrown his way. I don't view him as a difference maker, but he could be a solid role player.

4. Jody Fuller - I think he has struggled to catch the ball from day one and the fact he is not on the 3 deep at WR tells a lot. A transfer might be a good option for all parties.

5. Will Sport - He came in as an unheralded recruit that we knew would need time to develop. I never hear anything about Sport, and the fact he is no longer listed on the 2 deep is concerning considering this is his 3rd year in the program. Physically, I've questioned if he had the upside because an Olinemen has to either have good feet/quickness or strength (hopefully both), and does he have either?

6. Mike Matulius - Showed such great promise early on. Can he come back physcally or is he on track to go on a medical scholly to free up another spot?

7. Chris Moody - I don't know anything about him. He looks like he can play. Does anyone know if he appears to have the quickness/speed to play at this level?

8. T.J. Gurley - He doesn't possess good size and that will not change. My question is if he has the quickness/speed to play safety in the SEC? He looks overmatched even against non-SEC teams.....do you think he will get that back the further he is from the injury? Was he fast before the injury?

9. Ronnie Martin - Is he injured? I'm not sure why we brought him in if he is not capable of beating out a true freshman converted running back or a redshirt freshman coming off an ACL injury.

Carson -- dunno. He was the second string back as a true freshman ahead of Wilds, Miles, Baker, etc. He's been injured and he hasn't really been given much of a chance. I am going to need to see him when he has an opportunity to get reps and some carries.

Salley- Pretty clear that right now he is not in the mix. I suppose that he could learn his playbook, get fully healthy, kill it in weight room and contribute down the line if he dedicated himself. Or he might transfer. The latter seems a little more likely to me, but I don't know.

Brent -- don't know. He's played a little but is behind some guys who have been productive. Still relatively young. I could see him being a contributor later.

Fuller -- not sure he has played much. Seems to be a physical receiver based on word abou this bloking. similar to Brent could come along later. Just spitballing, but maybe a safety candidate? I don't know. His hands were the biggest question.

Sport -- never hear much about him and I don't think he's gotten much time. I think its possible he turns into a senior starter at some point. OL often is continuity, experience, physical maturity and a guy can play well his last year.

Matulis -- will come back; may start next year if Robinson goes, unless he gets hurt again.

Moody -- way too early to have any idea.

Gurley -- did not look overmatched as a true freshman. His size is not noticeably different from Swearinger or B. Williams.

R. Martin -- defintiely a guy to watch next spring. CB has not been our problem this year and I think he is a guy that can come along. We'll see.
