Well I have finally learned why she sent that message. So my wife's family goes all out for everyone's birthday. No matter whether you're 8 or 80, you're getting a cake and song and special dinner and presents and all that crap. (In my family, once you hit 18, you can consider yourself luck to get a Facebook message.)
Her grandmother just had a birthday, and that was what they decided would be a good gift. (It's a glorified flower pot.) However in addition to wanting to go overboard with adult birthdays, they also like to wait until the absolute last possible minute to plan anything. So what happened was they all decided on that thing as a gift on Thursday with the party being on a Saturday. However that particular item was not in stock at Home Depot, and they had to have it delivered a week later. So what she was really asking is if I could ask anyone to shit out one of those things at a moment's notice.
