The High School Sports Report Sunday hosted football players from across the state for media day at Williams-Brice Stadium. Not all of the players are college prospects but there were several there who are being targeted by the colleges. Here’s a rundown from those prospects we talked to.
RB Andrew Plante of Westwood…has an offer from Gardner-Webb and is getting interest from The Citadel, Wofford, UNC Charlotte and Furman.
QB Austin Scott of Spartanburg…has offers from Elon, Mercer, Lehigh, Old Dominion and SC State and is getting interest from USC, Ohio, Troy and Purdue.
DE Javon Kinlaw of Goose Creek…has not been to any camps this summer as he’s focusing on his academics and preparation for the season…he’s been talking to USC and Florida State and USC remains his favorite. Right now junior college appears likely for 2016.
Junior OL Tyler Lilly (6-5 295) of Cheraw… is just breaking into the recruiting scene and will be one to watch. He’s heard from UNC Charlotte.
OL Torrey Boone of Westwood…has offers from Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, North Greenville, Georgia Southern, The Citadel and East Carolina but those are pending based on his academic progress this year.
DB Nick McCloud of South Pointe…offers form Northwestern, Kansas State, East Carolina, Marshall and Appalachian State. He’s also hearing from USC and Tennessee.
DL Jalen Page (6-2 287) of Wilson…offers from Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, Wofford, The Citadel and SC State.
Junior DB Savalas Cann (6-2 220) of Bamberg-Ehrhardt…has offers from USC, Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, NC State, Tennessee, Florida and Auburn. He was at Dawg Night at Georgia last weekend and he will be at USC camp Saturday. He’s been hearing from USC regularly but said he’s not heard from Clemson this summer. He has no favorite.
QB Avery McCall of Dillon…talking with Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State and North Carolina. Oregon State is also a possibility. Went to Appalachian State and North Carolina for camp and visited Coastal Carolina last week. He plans to be at USC’s camp Saturday. Might make decision before the season.
