How UF and UGA are out recruiting us. The state of Florida has 51 four star or better players. State of Georgia has 22. South Carolina has ... 4. There is a reason these two teams have "historically" beat us on the field. Because recruiting does matter. It's only now that we have great coaching and solid recruiting that were competing with these teams and have been beating them the last few years. But they have a great advantage with their states having so many great players. A lot easier to sign in state studs when you have 5 to 10 times the four star kids to choose from. If we want a class of 15 or so four star kids we must go out of state and thats where it gets interesting. We get a few but it's a lot harder to do. Especially in Georgia and Florida. They can't sign them all. But the fact is they will always have a "home field advantage". Realizing this makes what Spurrier and company are doing that much more amazing. Georgia and Florida aren't football giants because of coaches like Mark Richt and Will Muschamp. Their that way because they happen to sit in recruiting hotbeds.

USC will always struggle to beat these teams in February. But because of Spurrier we know that regardless of February we can compete and beat these teams in the fall!
