Inching closer to first signing period

October 27, 2017

With three months left before National Signing Day, the South Carolina football team’s 2018 recruiting class has a handful of targets remaining.

The Gamecocks’ class has 18 members, though that figure doesn’t include the lone holdover from the 2017 class — defensive end Tyreek Johnson — who will arrive in January as a grayshirt.

In December, college football coaches across the country will experience the first signing period for the 2018 recruiting cycle.

Below is an update on where things stand for the 2018 class:

Where the South Carolina class ranks

According to the 247Sports composite, South Carolina’s 2018 class is ranked No. 26 in the country. The Gamecocks are 10th among teams from the SEC.
