Several key members of the roster were left home for the 24-14 win over No. 13 Kentucky on Saturday night. Beamer, as per usual, didn’t seem to think many of the guys who were out would take a long time to recover.
Safeties RJ Roderick (hip) and Devonni Reed (arm) were both out of the game. Reed did make the trip with the team, though. Also not making the trip included defensive tackle Alex Huntley (lower body) and wide receiver Corey Rucker (undisclosed) did not make the trip.
Running back Christian Beal-Smith aggravated a foot injury he suffered in preseason practice earlier this week in the leadup to the game against the Wildcats (4-2, 1-2). Offensive guard Trai Jones was out, too.
Beamer also said “I think we’ll be OK. RJ Roderick hurt his hip against S.C. State. He practiced some this week but got to the end of the week and didn’t feel like he was good enough.”
