Injury status still murky
Sept. 15, 2022
Speaking on his weekly call-in show, Coach Beamer said a large group of players is still “questionable” for Saturday’s game against No. 1 Georgia. The statuses of Boogie Huntley, Corey Rucker, David Spaulding, Cam Smith, and RJ Roderick are all still fuzzy heading into the game day Saturday.
“Still up in the air on many of these guys,” Beamer said. “We’ll see what happens in the next couple of days.” The Gamecocks have one more day left before game day, including a Friday walk-through. But time is running out for those guys to be able to play.
The Gamecocks haven’t beaten Georgia since the epic 2019 upset in Athens. The last South Carolina win at home came in 2014, a 38-35 win. South Carolina’s last upset over a No. 1 team came 12 years ago against Alabama at Williams-Brice Stadium.
