With all the emphasis on helmet to helmet, why is there not any effort by the NCAA and NFL to protect players knees. After watching the SF/SEA game and seeing Manningham get injured, it was all to reminiscent of Lattimore's injury. If a player is engaged with a defender high, another defender should not be allowed to obviously go low to his knees.

I am not suggesting to pussify football, but they already protect lineman this way. It is dissapointing to see guys injured this way, when it can certainly be avoided without having a negative impact on the sport.
