Is Lamont the right coach for us?

Maybe this is a question if we were at 1-7 in SEC play, but realistically that's how it's trending at this point; I think we might as well be there already.

I just don't see how a team that beat UK at Rupp can lay the egg they laid tonight against the worst team in the SEC.

You could see this coming when the team got worse in December instead of improving.

Having gone to a lot of home games in recent years, what's changed is the fans in the stands feel sorry for the players because they know they're just not that good.

Look at how Oats and Musselman have turned around Bama and Arkansas respectively. Mike White has UGA headed in the right direction for the first time in a while. We suck.

We're a bad SoCon team right now and I don't think it's going to get any better the rest of the season. I doubt we'll even make the SECT at this point.

I really like the guy, but right now, I don't think Lamont is the right coach for us based on the record. A good coach finds a way to win with what he has and he has not shown that to us yet.

No one wants things to change more than me, but I just don't see it happening right now.

Way too early to start with this shit. If this were year 4 or 5, maybe. But this is at the beginning of a complete rebuild. This season is going to be tough. Probably next season too. With the way Paris is going to have to build his program, I don't think it will be until year 3 that we start to make noise again.

I like the players and I like Lamont, but together they can't punch their way out of a wet paper bag in a real college basketball game most of the time.

What are you trying to learn about your players at this point that you should already have known in December and tried to fix the best way you can?

You can already check the box on us going 1-17 in the SEC at this point. Statistically we're already there. This team is predictably bad at this point. Not too early to talk like this.

Lamont is a mid-major coach who will either figure out how to win in the SEC or he won't. This ain't the SoCon. It's gonna be rough for Lamont unless he figures out how to win more games.

Lamont is going to hear about it from the fan base if we lose a few more games, especially if Auburn blows us out by 40 on Saturday. It's just part of it.

We couldn't find a way to lead one time in a game against the worst team in the SEC tonight at home. That's really bad.

I hope things improve, but I think the odds are against it at this point.

I just don't see how you can beat UK at Rupp and then turn around and lay this egg against the worst team in SEC tonight AT HOME.

It was my fault guys. I tuned in during the second half and we were down by 3. But once I started watching, Ole Piss went on a 12 point run;.

Don't think it's completely on the coaching staff. This team was cobbled together and it shows during the games. The program went scorched earth when Frank was fired and this is a complete start from scratch program. Like coming off the death penalty starting over. Lamont got what he could to field a team but these guys are far from his players. Next year we should be a little better coached on the floor but it's gonna take some time to get a team of his type of players in here. Was he the right hire? Time will tell but he's who we have now and judging at this point is a tad premature.

Spot on.

Even with his NCAAT pedigree, it still took Frank a couple of season to get going in the SEC. If nothing else, that shows you how hard it is for a new SEC head coach to win in the SEC.

The fan base is used to that prizefighter mentality that Frank brought to the team, win or lose. There's no passion like that in these blow-out losses this season.

Absolutely none.

Now the losing skid is at the beginning of the season instead of the middle like we were used to with Frank's squads. We are 8-10 and there are 13 games left in the regular season. Winning out puts us at 21-10 and solidly in the NCAAT. We could lose 5 more games and win a couple in the SECT, but really we can only lose 3 more games and a couple in the SECT to keep a postseason invitation of any kind alive.

If the Joe Louis prizefighter mentality that Frank brought in is replaced by a South Carolina Slim pool hustler mentality, I would be okay with that.

Do you think GG, the #1 prospect, would have come here if Lamont had told him we're going to get blown out this season? Right.

It would be great if Lamont and the team find a way to get back on track and stay there. Lamont's going to have to hear it from the fan base, because he for darn sure is not going to hear it from an AD who is perceived as not understanding or really caring about men's basketball.

Lamont and the team should already have figured some things out by now and the blow-outs aren't really acceptable to me right now. An upset of #16 Auburn this Saturday at the CLA would be real nice. Make it so, Numba One.

Way too early to make that call. Just do not have the players maybe only 2 players that are really worth keeping on this year's team. Give him a chance to get some quality and quantity then make the call from those results.

The right coach for USC is the coach that can get the top South Carolina guys (by and large) to stay home for at least a year.

The right coach for USC is the coach that can connect to the USC fanbase and media and sell those two groups on what he is doing here.

The right coach for USC is the coach that can build his teams to compete in the top half of the SEC and win enough games to make a tournament at least twice every five years.

Lamont Paris will have to show he can answer those question in the affirmative.

After the football season you would think this mentality would slow its roll and let a season play out... is what it is but you don't go into Rupp and win with only 2 players you should keep, you just don't! If that is the case Coach Paris is a genius, you also shouldn't question if he is the right coach after months on the job, question decisions, player substitutions, x's and o's but come on man...
Stuck in this perpetual...

We're going to honor a pretty good FB team at halftime Saturday.

Don't screw it up by laying another effin' egg!!

Stay focus!!

Agreed. This is not the time to judge. Way too early.
