What about Malzahn as OC?I am hoping that Beamer does hire Garrett Riley as OC. I would love to see us have an explosive offense, for once.
As far as DC, I don’t really care, as long as he teaches our guys to wrap up, tackle, blitz, and not give a huge cushion to opposing receivers.
I’ve just never been impressed with Malzahn. He seems to have a decent year, followed by a crappy year. I’ve just always had the impression that he seems to stumble into success, instead of planning for success. I have nothing to back that up, other than my own feelings. What about Malzahn as OC?
The tea leaves go line up for Beamer to steal an couple from Tenn, they might pull the trigger to get an shot at Freeze, but wherever he goes the SEC COMMISIONER WILL HAVE TO SIGN OFF ON HIM THAT COULD BE AN DRAWN OUT THING.I think Freeze will end up at Auburn. I had heard that rumor several weeks ago, so we’ll see if there is something to it. I think TN will stick with Pruitt one more year.

My wish list as well from what I understandIt's Christmas after all...
Mason - DC
Riley - OC
From what I have heard Shaw is going to be retained, not sure about Kitchings, should be though , he's done an good job .My wish list as well from what I understand
My other wishlist is that we keep Shaw and Kitchings
Mason for sure, but we need Riley as OC , Malzahn just might not have the edge we need he get's 7.2 mil, an year form Auburn, really how much more do you need I would be done for sure.I'll take either Malzahn or Riley as OC (I'm not greedy)
Mason at DC would be just swell
Well, as I said somewhere else, Malzahn will probably go where he thinks he'll have the most immediate success for him to be a P5 HC again.Mason for sure, but we need Riley as OC , Malzahn just might not have the edge we need he get's 7.2 mil, an year form Auburn, really how much more do you need I would be done for sure.
I can see him at soo we pig nationWell, as I said somewhere else, Malzahn will probably go where he thinks he'll have the most immediate success for him to be a P5 HC again.
I agree completely we need Riley if at all possible, then open the check book and go get Mason, go from there. If I'm Shane Beamer I take Garrett Riley first and go from there...they're friends with a personal relationship...he's young...and is an absolute disciple of the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach school of offense that his brother...the reason Shane took the OU job...and current SMU head coach...Sonny Dykes...are all a direct part of. Added to all that is his work with Eli Drinkwitz at App State...before he took the SMU job he was scheduled to take over as OC for the Mountaineers...because Eli left for Missouri...and is getting ready to win SEC Coach of the Year.
At DC I'm still not sure yet...Derek Mason sure sounds good but still need to do some research...that being said...Beamer as the 'CEO' with Riley as OC and Derek Mason as DC...along with Shaw and Kitchings from the old staff...and I like where we are while we fill the rest of the staff needs.
I say open the check book and get Venables.I agree completely we need Riley if at all possible, then open the check book and go get Mason, go from there.
