Jammie Robinson enjoys official South Carolina recruiting visit
June 03, 2018
The latest South Carolina recruiting visit for 3-star athlete Jammie Robinson wasn’t much different than the others. There certainly have been plenty of them.
Robinson was among the 2019 prospects in Columbia this weekend on an official visit. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound recruit from Cordele, Ga., enjoyed another “great” time visiting the Gamecocks.
“We hung out with Coach [Will] Muschamp, went out to his lake house, went tubing, hung out and ate. I ate so much. It was just interacting with the coaches and chilling,” Robinson said. “It was fun.”
South Carolina already has hosted him several times this year. He also made multiple visits in 2017.
“It was pretty much the same, because I’ve been up here a lot and I’ve got a good relationship with all of the coaches,” Robinson said. “It was pretty much the same, but at the same time there was a difference. The difference was we were able to hang out with the coaches more. We were able to interact with them more without all the other stuff.”
Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson spoke with Robinson before he hit the road on Sunday.
“They pretty much told me how bad they wanted me and stuff like that,” Robinson said. “And all the players they coached, who I compare to in the league, like Matt Elam. They say I play like Matt Elam. … That’s pretty much it. They were just telling me the love they have for me.”
Elam, who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens, was a 5-star safety when he signed with Florida in 2010. Robinson is currently listed by the 247Sports composite as the No. 33-ranked athlete in the Class of 2019.
Robinson plans to take one more official visit this summer, though he’s yet to make any arrangements. Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky and Michigan are also in the mix. There is no timeline for a commitment.
