After losing committed LB Matt Rolin to Florida, USC set out to find a junior college linebacker who was available and would fit their system. They possibly have found that guy in Tommy Sanders of Butler JC, KS. According to a source, Sanders will make an official visit to USC this weekend. 4 star Sanders (6-1 210) was close to making a decision last week after visiting Ohio State but held off. He has visited Mississippi State, Ohio State and Texas A&M. USC linebackers coach Kirk Botkin visited Sanders earlier this week. He also met this week with his Ohio State recruiter and Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn. Sanders is a Georgia native and a mid year transfer. He earned honorable mention JC All American honors this season.

Sanders to make his decision this week

12/16/12

4 star LB Tommy Sanders 6'1" 210lbs of Butler County JC, KS wrapped up his official visit to USC Sunday morning and headed to his home in Cordele, GA. USC was his last official visit and he plans to have a decision by Wednesday. "Everything was good," Sanders said. "I met with the players and the coaches. I hung out the most with Clowney. He's a great guy. He told me it's a great place with great support on and off the field. He said they have a strong team coming back and are shooting to win the SEC next year. They have five seniors (at linebacker) leaving so it's a great opportunity for me to come in and play. I'm going to go back home and narrow it down and see which one best fits me." Sanders also visited Ohio State, Texas A&M and Mississippi State and he's only considering the schools he visited. He said there is no leader at this point and he's not expecting any coaches to visit before the dead period begins Monday.
