Four-star athlete returns
Blythewood (S.C.) High School wide receiver Jordyn Adams returned to Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday to watch South Carolina play Massachusetts.
Adams last visited for the East Carolina game, but he was there in support of his father, former defensive line coach Deke Adams, who’s now an assistant for the Pirates.
Saturday’s trip went “great.”
“I enjoyed myself,” Adams said.
Muschamp and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon spoke with Adams before the game.
Muschamp was “excited” to have him back on campus.
“(Muschamp said) how I’m having a great season and looking forward to seeing me again,” Adams said.

McClendon offered a similar message, telling Adams that he’s “a freak of an athlete” who he “hopes (to) coach” in the future.
The No. 6-ranked in-state prospect will visit Clemson on Nov. 5. Rated as a 4-star recruit, Adams is the No. 17-ranked athlete in the Class of 2018.
South Carolina and North Carolina are among the primary contenders for the 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior.
Offered wide receiver loved visit
Sam James, the No. 75-ranked wide receiver in the country, picked up an offer from South Carolina in the spring. He visited in the summer for Muschamp Camp.
On Saturday, James returned with his mom and a friend for the UMass game.
“It was great. I loved it up there,” he said.
Like Adams, James met with Muschamp and McClendon.
“(Muschamp) just told me that he was glad to have me up there for a game … he said coach (Ken) Washington told him that I was playing well and to keep it up,” James said.
The 3-star prospect from Richmond Hill (Ga.) High School was impressed with what he saw from Jake Bentley and the South Carolina offense.
“He looked pretty good,” James said. “Their offense is similar to our offense, with the spread and wide receiver screens and getting wide receivers the ball. It was great.”
Georgia Southern will host him for a visit on Thursday before he heads to Florida State on Saturday. Duke is slated for a visit next month.
South Carolina, Central Michigan and Southern Miss have offered the 6-foot-2, 160-pound wide receiver.

According to an interview with al.com’s Drew Champlin, South Carolina defensive tackle commitment Javon Kinlaw intended to visit Alabama on Saturday for the Texas A&M game.
A concussion prevented him from making the trip from Jones County Junior College in Mississippi.
“I am interested in Alabama because of who they are and because they offered me out of high school,” Kinlaw said. “I still need to get to the school so I can really tell you how I feel.”
Three-star defensive lineman Aaron Sterling recently told Phil Kornblut that his lead group includes South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and N.C. State.
“(Muschamp) tells me he needs me up there to help with the pass rush,” Sterling said. “I really like South Carolina, I really do. It’s just the coaching staff. All the coaches recruiting me tell me straight up how they feel.”
