Kent State to be without key player for tonight’s game with USC
Kent State reserve catcher and designated hitter Jason Bagoly will not be with his team tonight for the elimination game against USC due to the unexpected death of his mother.
Bagoly left Omaha Tuesday to return to his Ohio home for his mother’s funeral after she passed away last Thursday.
Bagoly was a key contributor in the win over Florida Monday. He went 2-3 with a long double and a single. For the season he is hitting .277 with three home runs and 24 RBIs.
The Golden Flashes are expected to return slumping Nick Hamilton to the lineup as the DH against the Gamecocks. Hamilton is a .343 hitter but is hitless in his last 12 at bats.
