• Can we petition the NCAA to remove the 1st quarter? It seems like we have consistently opened up slow every game this season.

• The first half may have been the worst half of Spurrier coached football I’ve ever seen. I always respect the coaches but for the life of me I can’t understand 2 weeks in the row running Shaw in a goal to go situation when you have Marcus “ Freaking” Lattimore. Also terrible call on 4th down going for it at the end of the half. Nothing to gain from picking up the first down. If Kentucky scores a TD right before halftime we may have seen a different game.

• We may have quite possibly had every break in the 1st half go against us: dropped TD by DL Moore, stuff on 3rd/4th and goal, blocked punt, pick 6 tipped and turned into a 1st down eventual td, terrible facemask call on Jeffery.

• Halftime took forever, the 2nd half couldn’t have come soon enough.

• Not impressed with Victor Hampton, seems like he consistently gives up completions where he’s 5 yards away from the receiver when the ball is caught.

• Excellent halftime adjustments by the defense. I actually think it hurt us in the 1st half with Max Smith getting hurt. We were not prepared for the mobile qb run heavy offense. Ward made the necessary adjustments and the defense was dominant in the 2nd half. Through 5 games we have allowed 23 points in the 2nd half an average of 4.6 per game. That’s getting it done.

• I love Connor Shaw, he bugs the crap out of me not getting rid of the ball on his 1st/2nd read but he has a tendency of making plays. Every throw down field he was on the money. He will need to throw the ball accurately downfield next week against UGA to open up the running game.

• Lattimore continues to look better and better. He made some great cuts tonight and I love how he always finishes the run. I think it’s a blessing we don’t play UGA until game 6.

• DL Moore must be 1 hell of a blocker/practice player. That’s the only conceivable reason for him to be out there.

• Buster Anderson continues to make plays in the passing game. He has a knack for getting open.

• I really enjoyed the defensive line play, very active front 4 that consistently got pressure on the qb. I worry about teams hitting us on draws and screens on the rabbit package. Hopefully that’s something we can plan for in the future.

• Ace didn’t do much in the punt return but it was still kind of cool to have the other team worry about the punt return. Ace’s performance last week altered some punts which led to decent field position. A far cry from putting a warm body out there that could call for a fair catch.

• Adam Yates seems to be a pretty solid kicker. He consistently kicks the ball into the end zone on kickoffs and has shown the ability to make some field goals.

• Tyler Hull is a crappy punter. Sorry Tyler, still like you as a poster on TBS but your punting skills leave much to be desired. Can’t we find 1 more year of eligibility for Succup or Lanning? Is there a Colquitt brother we can recruit?

• I don’t feel like we have shown a lot on offense. I have a feeling UGA is going to see a lot of different wrinkles this week. No inside info just a hunch.

• My wife may be the bad luck charm for Gamecock football. She watched the 1st half 7-17, went to bed the 2nd half 31-0. Strongly considering banishing her from watching the UGA game.

• At the end of the day it was a funky day of college football. A lot of undefeated teams were challenged by home underdogs. For as bad as we played in the first half we still won by 21 and covered the spread. I can’t think of another South Carolina game where we played so poorly in the 1st half and still ended up dominating the opponent.

•We are 5-0 with no major injuries (knock on wood) heading in to UGA. Gameday is in town and we have the 7:00 PM ESPN Game. I cannot wait for next week, it’s going to be tough to go to work and be productive.

1st quarter is slow like crap every single time, I don't understand why Spurrier it's not doing anything about this matter.
