Muschamp said he tore a muscle off his pubic bone and is having surgery. This sucks bc I really like the way Kevin runs and wanted to see more of him this year. Guess he’ll redshirt and wish him well in his recovery.

Yes he will be able to redshirt have to play 4 games to not be able too.

Honestly, the way this season is going, this isn't that bad of an outcome. Let him get healthy, he got a few in game reps and will be back next year with a year in the weightroom and the playbook.

Michael Carrera battled a groin injury his SR year and we competed and got a 20-win season out of it.

Player's call, though.

There’s a vast difference between having a “groin injury” and needing surgery to repair a muscle torn loose from the bone.

Come on man.

His injury either happened in a game, practice, or in the weight room.  Will didn't say which as far as I know, so I am assuming it happened in the weight room.

The guy was going to be a key player for us this season and he should have backed off if he was already injured.

Lack of attention to detail is one of the big reasons we have lost so many games that past several years.  The number of major injuries across our Big 3 sports has been incredible.

My point is he needed to dial it back if he knew he was already injured.

So your point is based on pure assumption, with no actual knowledge of the injury, it's extent or when it occurred. He didn't get any carries in the Bama game that I remember, so it is very possible the staff held him out waiting on further imaging or tests now that they have come back they made a decision. He may very well have been holding back, they just didn't make it public.

Did anybody actually expect him to be a key contributor?

Sure sounded like you were putting down a player for getting inured.
