Key quotes from Beamers presser today 09/07/2021

What the coach said:

On the team's schedule for Saturday's road trip to Greenville, NC: "I'm a routine guy, so I don't want road games to be that much different than home games."

Beamer on a mulligan from Saturday. "Probably should have offered my Dad a sideline pass."

Beamer says the toughest decision he made during Saturday's game was regarding the two-point conversion try following the opening score. "Maybe not the toughest, but we spent a good bit of time on it."

Beamer says that Jordan Burch is, "right where he needs to be," when asked about possibly playing offense as well. The coaching staff was extremely impressed with Burch's pick-six on Saturday vs. EIU.

Beamer's uniform update, he believes USC will be in all-white for Saturday's game at ECU. "That's a great question," chuckles that it should be in the media game notes each week.

Regroups and says you can't have "too many running backs."

Beamer says the running back meeting room this morning, "sounded like a frat party in there." Is stopped by a test of the USC emergency alert system ... jokes that he's lost his focus.

Beamer says the coaching staff has not been told about any limit on the amount of plays/work load that Harris can handle.

Beamer on Kevin Harris returning. "He had a big smile on his face and it was good to see him out there (today) in full pads.

Beamer: "I wish we had 100 Luke Doty's. He's a competitor. He was good on the sidelines. He had a great energy and spirit about himself since the day he got hurt."

On Doty, Beamer says he practiced today. "I've got to be able to see that he can operate at a high level. He was out there in a football uniform today."

Sounds like the next couple of days will determine is Luke can shake off the rust and play ahead of Zeb.

Sure does. I feel he plays. Will he start maybe,  will know by Friday regardless when Beamer names the starter. Leaning to Doty Starts as of now.
