Kinlaw seeking improvement, addresses hip injury
August 11, 2019
There is a lot of NFL draft hype circling around Javon Kinlaw as he enters his senior season at South Carolina. However, the senior defensive tackle has his sights set on improving his game, knowing there are areas to develop before beginning preparation for a pro career.
“It’s not really difficult at all (to keep the NFL off my mind) because I’m worried about the main goal right now. Muschamp always says to be where your feet are. Well I’m where my feet are at,” Kinlaw said. “I’ve been working on my technique, my eye control, gap discipline, things like that. My power is going to help snagging off blocks.”
At 6-6 and 300 pounds with the ability to float up to 310, Kinlaw says he feels as powerful as ever and is in the best shape of his lift, carrying about 16 percent body fat just two years after weighing 340 pounds as an incoming sophomore for the 2017 season. (VIEW ARTICLE) FREE 247SPORTS
